Crowdfund Salford: Turning your ideas into reality

Up to £10,000 is available to support great ideas in Salford. Using the power of the crowd, we’re helping projects find the funding and support they need to turn their ideas into reality.

How does crowdfunding work?

We consider pledging up to 50% of your crowdfunding campaign target (up to a maximum pledge amount of £10,000) if you meet our eligibility criteria:

Live match funding criteria

Salford City Council will provide match funding to projects accepted into the Salford City Council Fund during their initial fundraising period as follows:

  1. Pound for Pound Match: All pledges made by supporters will be matched pound for pound up to £250. This means that if a project receives a pledge of £50, Salford City Council will donate £50. If a project receives a pledge of £500, Salford City Council will donate £250.
  2. Maximum Match Funding: The maximum match funding a project can receive from Salford City Council is 50% of the original target you set, up to a maximum of £10,000.
  3. First Pledge Match: Match funding will be given on the first pledge made to a project by a supporter.
  4. Unique Supporters Requirement: Your project must receive pledges from a minimum of 15 unique supporters to receive the match funding. To verify whether supporters are unique we will take into account information including, but not limited to: name, address, email addresses, and payment card used.

Pledges will not be matched where a project is ‘always on’. The match fund will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Matching will stop automatically when the funds are fully allocated. Being approved for match funding does not guarantee you will receive any funding.
