Salford Quays: A better place to live and work

As Salford Quays continues to grow we want to ensure that the Salford Quays of the future is the best it can be.

In 2022 the city council launched a new vision for the quays that was the culmination of extensive consultation.

It set out 5 key principles:

  1. A place that puts people at the centre
  2. A place that works for everyone
  3. A place where creativity brings people together
  4. A place that’s dedicated to wellbeing
  5. A place that celebrates its past

And has already been incorporated into new projects that bring these principles together, from a new framework for MediaCity and Quayside showing how the centre of the town will develop, to a scheme that brings the Quay’s rich heritage alive (Salford by the Sea) and ideas around the Inner Loop that will improve the traffic free public realm that is currently enjoyed by residents and visitors. 

Its recognised that to deliver the promise of growth there are lots of supporting activities and changes required that will support the town centre uses. How this will start to be done is captured below:
