Gainsborough Street area, Broughton

Salford City Council proposes to make the following order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The City of Salford (Gainsborough Street area, Broughton) (Prohibition of Waiting and Amendment) Order 2024

The effect of the proposed order will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time on the following Roads:

Wellington Street East: both sides from its junction with Leicester Road for a distance of
11.5m in a south westerly direction.

Symons Street:

• both sides from its junction with Leicester Road for a distance of 10m in
  a south easterly direction,
• both sides from its junction with Great Cheetham St East for a
  distance of 7.7 m in a north westerly direction.

Turner Street: both sides from its junction with Leicester Road for a distance of 10 m in a
south westerly direction.

Leicester Road:

• South East Side from a point 10 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Gainsborough St to a point 10 m south west from the south western extended kerbline of Gainsborough St 
• South East Side from a point 13 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Norton St to a point 10 m south west from the south western extended kerbline of Norton St
• North West Side from a point 10 m north east of the north western extended kerbline of Turner St to a point 12 m south west from the extended south eastern kerbline of Turner St
• North West Side from a point 16.5 m north east from the north western extended kerbline of Devonshire St to a point 10.4 m south from the extended south eastern kerbline of Devonshire St
• South East Side from a point 10.5m north east from the extended north western kerbline of Devonshire St to a point 11 m south from the extended south eastern kerbline of Devonshire St
• South East Side from a point 10 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Heaton St to a point 10m south west from the south western extended kerbline of Heaton St
• South East Side from a point 10 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Symons St to a point 10 m south west from the south western extended kerbline of Symons St
• North West Side from a point 30 m south east from the south eastern extended kerbline of Welbeck Grove to a point 18.5 m south west from the extended south eastern kerbline of Wellington St East.

Bristol Street: both sides from its junction with Great Cheetham St East for a distance of 8m in a north westerly direction.

Great Cheetham St East:

• North West Side from a point 10 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Bristol St to a point 10 m south west from the extended south western kerbline of Bristol St
• South East Side from a point 10 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Marsland St to a point 10 m south west from the south western extended kerbline of Marsland St
• North West Side from a point 10 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Heaton St to a point 10 m south west from the extended south western kerbline of Heaton St
• North West Side from a point 10 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Symons St to a point 10 m south west from the extended south western kerbline of Symons St
• South East Side from a point 10 m north east of the north easterly extended kerbline of Bower St to a point 10 m south west from the south western extended kerbline of Bower St
• North West Side from a point 10 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Norton St to a point 12 m south west from the extended south eastern kerbline of Devonshire St
• South East Sides from a point 10 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Dudley St to a point 10 m south west from the south western extended kerbline of Dudley St
• North West Side from a point 10 m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Gainsborough St to a point 10 m south west from the extended south western kerbline of Gainsborough St.

Marsland Street North: both sides from its junction with Great Cheetham St East for a
distance of 10 m in a south easterly direction.

Bower Street: both sides from its junction with Great Cheetham St East for a distance of
10m in a south easterly direction

Norton Street:

• both sides from its junction with Great Cheetham St East for a distance of 9.1m in a north westerly direction
• both sides from its junction with Leicester Road for a distance of 10m in a south easterly direction.

Devonshire Street:

• North West Side from a point 10m south west from the south western extended kerbline of Leicester Road to a point 12.5m north east from the north eastern extended kerbline of Leicester Road
• South East Side from a point 10m south west from the south western extended kerbline of Leicester Road to a point 15.4m north east from the north eastern extended kerbline of Leicester Road
• South East Side from its junction with Great Cheetham St East for a distance of 11.4m in a south westerly direction
• North West Side from its junction with Great Cheetham St East for a distance of 15.7m in a south westerly direction.

Dudley Street: both sides from its junction with Great Cheetham St East for a distance of
10m in a south easterly direction.

Gainsborough Street:

• Both Sides from its junction with Great Cheetham St East for a distance of 7.6m in a north westerly direction
• Both sides from its junction with Leicester Road for a distance of 10m in a south easterly direction.

Existing orders are to be amended so as to be consistent with the proposals.
