Statement of Reasons

City of Salford (Blackleach Drive, Walkden, Walkden) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2024

Blackleach Drive is the one relatively narrow access to a small residential estate. As such it is essential that safe access and egress is maintained at all times.

Parking on or close to the junction not only causes issues for vehicle access but also for pedestrian trying to cross this junction and hindering visibility for all road users.

As such it is proposed to introduce No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions for 12m from its junction from Worsley Road North, so that a safe access and egress is maintained for vehicles and pedestrians can cross the road unhindered by parked vehicles and can see and be seen by approaching vehicles.
