Audience:

EYFS practitioners and other professionals working with children aged 0 to 5.

Course description:

Integrated universal training session about speech, language and communication for people working with children under five years of age. This includes how to identify need and support children using the WellComm toolkit. 

Outcomes

• Be familiar with the different aspects of speech, language and communication
• Be aware of the typical pattern and stages of language development in the early years
• Be able to monitor children’s language development and identify children with needs using the WellComm toolkit
• Be ready to use and promote everyday strategies that support children’s communication development including effective use of the WellComm toolkit. 

Course length:

Full day – delegates will also receive a free follow visit by a Communication Development Worker to further support with using the WellComm toolkit.
